Hi Kim,
There are always people out there that don't have a clue! I think you came up
with a good response... does it usually stop there? I think I would say "I'm
fine thanks and how are you? I am sure some people are asking because they are
really interested and supportive of you, but I am sure there are some that are
just busy bodies.
I am pre-op and have told only my husband, parents and my immediate boss and the
office manager about what I am doing... Anyway, I just don't know which way I
feel like going with this... I am usually someone who feels compelled to answer
any question asked of me, but I really want to do what I feel is right for me on
such an important issue.
Hang in there,
Karen

I am reconsidering the decision I made to make public my decision to
have wls. My thinking was that I wanted others to know that this was
a possibility and not to hide anything. I am not ashamed of having
the surgery (7 weeks ago), I am just tired of rude people walking up
to me and saying "so, how much weight have you lost?" No "hi, how
are you" or anything else, just straight to the "how much" question.
I have begun to reply "quite a bit thankyou" I am proud of what I
have done and how I am doing and I have nothing to hide, I just feel
funny having people I hardly know asking me personal questions. I
mean, if they were questions about the surgery, because they or
someone they knew wanted to have the surgery I wouldn't mind, but the
how much question is getting to me. Does anyone else out there feel
the same way, or am I being to easily offended? Hope everyone is
doing well.
Kim
