Re: [Gastric_Bypass_Family] fear of failure
I feel so much better on the inside. I know people
view me differently on the outside and that makes me
feel better about myself. After doing research I
decided on the RNY because the band seemed like too
much work and not enough success for me. Besides,
it's a fairly new procedure and there just wasn't
enough info on it. I also didn't like the idea that
if you weren't losing weight, to go in and have the
tube adjusted tighter. I've also heard that people
can eat their way around the band. I wanted to make
certain I was getting a procedure that would work.
Good luck,

Hi Kerry!
I'd like to assure you that I am the person I have always been. I just keep
myself in check and the people that are important to me in my life, i.e. my
hubby and my parents, I know they will keep me in check too. Of course, I have
a little more confidence which I didn't know I could have more of, but I am
the me I always have been. I too was nervous if I would change after I lost
some weight, but thank goodness, I'm still me.
The most important thing is that you are already aware that there could be
changes, so I'm sure that you will be able to keep yourself "in check" also.

Thanks Julia. I've had to focus on that part of me because part of my delay in
having the surgery done was just that. Many here have told me that you really
don't change on the inside, that you just become more confident in who you are.
I had a heart to heart with my husband and he assured me that he would love me
no matter what. Of course I knew he would. My parents are incredibly
supportive as well.
I was fortunate in that I was approved by insurance in less than two weeks. I
will be setting up my surgery date on Monday. Now, like Matthew, I must decide
which surgery to have.
