Re: [Gastric_Bypass_Family] Little over 2 week checkup
Hi Dora,
Glad you were able to get the staples out today and it wasn't so bad. I
don't think what your feeling at all is stupid. I know exactly how your feeling
and I'm sure a lot of the rest of us are too. I think it's just that we're
used to the ups and downs we've experienced in weight loss over the years that
it's hard fo us to comprehend how things are now. I remember when I was in
Weight Watchers I would do really well for the first 25 pounds or so then I too
never seemed to go any farther. I was never able to follow-through with any
diet. We just have to keep telling ourselves this time we will succeed. We've
been blessed with this tool to help us and WE WILL SUCCEED!!!!! Take care Dora
and you are such a wonderful person. Just love reading your posts and words
of wisdom.
Hugs,
Laurette

No. As a matter of fact, I have read that when
someone hits a plateau it is usually an area that was
unsurpassable in past diet attempts. It's strange,
but true. We can pass the plateaus, but I have
noticed when I reach certain points, it takes me
longer to get past them.

Wow, 20 pounds in 3 weeks that is amazing! I just had my (little less than) 2
week appointment and lost 12 pounds. I am very happy for the loss and to get
those staples out.
Keep up the good work!

I also lost 12 lbs. at the 2 week checkup. I had the lap., and when he took off
the bandages I had little rashes from the bandages around the incisions. I've
been applying Gold Bond ointment for the itching. Anybody have any other
suggestions on the healing of the rashes?
Thanks,
Anna

Dora,
That is a normal reaction to have . I remember how i felt when i lost the
first twenty-nine pounds. That was how much i had lost at weight watchers. I
was proud but very much in awe. Some of the things you will go through will
be different and some will come as a complete surprise. Just remember that you
are never alone in this. somewhere in the world there will be all of us that
has been through or going through the same thing. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ON YOUR
JOURNEY .

I went yesterday to finally have my staples taken out. How wonderful do I feel
now!!!! And just like you guys kept telling me, it was nothing. A couple of
them stung a little because they were placed so close together that he had to
pull them together. But other than that I really did not feel most of them. I
was freaking for nothing.
And I lost 20 pounds. That is awesome that I could loose 20 pounds in 2 weeks.
But here comes the stupid thing that keeps running through my mind. Be
forewarned that I know it is stupid but it is there just the same. The last 3
times I joined weight watchers I never made it to the 20 pound mark. And I am
thinking, well is this it for me. I hit the 20 pound mark, will I actually
loose more? I told you it was stupid and irrational, but that is what deep down
I really feel. That I won't loose the weight. Am I alone in this?

Some people are allergic to the bandaids. I know I had
sore, red areas from the bandages as well. I just let
them be without putting anything on them and they
eventually cleared up. I think the other woman was
saying use desitin to keep moisture away.
